It's nice to have somebody else curating the playlist for a bit of
variety. I have it burbling away now, making me feel 14 y.o. again
(apart from hormones in turmoil, obvs.)

IRTA "I hate everything they recorded ..."

I don't think I object to anything they did, but they were on shaky
ground before I made it to primary fpubby, so they were never really for
me ... anything I have is on pbzcvyngvba albums.

Although they were, sort of, the sound of my teenage years, they never
did anything for me. I never understood the attraction and still do
not.

OTOH they do give me a sense of some nostalgia for my later teenage
years.

They were a lot better at it than they needed to be, for the economic
niche they were filling, to start with, þen they expanded that niche by
setting the higher standard. Gosh, how did I get that character in there
? WTF8 strikes again !

My teenage years were more glam rock, prog rock, and heavy rock like Led
Zeppelin. So this is a rather good Beatles/Zep mashup:

I went to the Cavern a few times when I was 18/19 (so mid 1960's). I never
got to see the fab 4 but groups such as the Hollies, Yardbirds, Gerry and
the Pacemakers (they had us bouncing up and down), Searchers, etc.

Maybe, but Jane Asher's sister-in-law had no time for
Linda McCartney talking about her weaseling in with her "Fucking

I know its unkind to speak ill of the dead, but what are unkind people
supposed to do with their time ?

Anyway..... some years ago on some sort of radio quiz programme, there
was a question put to the panel, something along the lines of:

"In the event of a 3 minute warning being issued for an imminent nuclear
attack, what would (or could) the panel do with the remaining few
minutes of their lives ?"

One of the replies was : “Learn to play any musical instrument better
than Linda McCartney” :-\

For Heather Mills' birthday, Paul McCartney bought her a plane.
He bought a Ladyshave for her other leg.

I am not in a position to judge the greatness or otherwise of his

but he must be getting on to being the longest lived as a drummer?

Davina was mad about the smell of bacon. Has the immortal lines,
Sebastian (the Afghan Hound) is licking his balls,

Jasper Carrot (to cover his embarrassment: "I wish I could do that",
