Sophie used to catch spiders, roll thenm into a ball in her mouth then
spit them out covered in saliva. Took 'em a while to extract themselves.

She also used to jump up and expertly catch wasps in flight. She'd chew
them and spit 'em out dead or dying. I'm sure she got stung a lot, but
didn't seem to mind. Reckon she thought it was sherbet.

My mutt also used to do that, and ate them with great relish. Somehow or
other, he managed to spit out the intact stinger every time. We never
did work out how the (Expletive deleted) he did it.
